Rape Charged in Tabor-Area Case

Charges of second degree rape and forced sex offense led to the arrest of a Tabor City area man this morning (April 30).

Reagan Craig Worley. 23, of 143 Edna Dr., Tabor City, is being held under no bond, according to detention center records. He is charged with  second degree forcible rape, second degree forcible sex offense and misdemeanor sexual battery.

Worley is accused of grabbing the victim’s breasts and forcing her to have sex on April 1, according to the warrants.

The sheriff’s office said that deputies interviewed the victim at an area hospital April 2. She alleged that Worley, who she knew, picked her up and took her to a remote area, where she was sexually assaulted.

The sheriff’s office collected and analyzed evidence in the case, and obtained warrants for Worley’s arrest this week.

The incident is being investigated by the sheriff’s office.
