Spring Fling Draws Big Crowd

Gurganus Farm Store held its annual spring Fling and Flock Swap Saturday.

The event kicks off the flock swap season. In addition to chickens, ducks, goats and other livestock, there were vendors from the Columbus County Community Farmer’s Market, food trucks, arts and craft sellers, commercial vendors, and more. Little farmers and farmers-to-be enjoyed a bounce house, face painting and other fun.

This year’s Spring Fling marked the first time that the Farm Store’s neighbor, The Farmer’s Wife and Co., participated. The boutique and reseller had specials throughout the day.

Columbus Animal Protective Services held a free rabies vaccination clinic, and more than 120 pet owners took advantage of the opportunity. APS also received a donation of animal food and treats from the Farm Store.
