Christopher Strickland was taken into custody today (Tuesday) after a two-day manhunt.
Strickland, 43, was wanted for a string of break-ins and larcenies in North and South Carolinas, according to Tabor City Police.
Tabor City Police said Strickland was captured after a joint effort with the sheriff’s office, Fair Bluff and Chadbourn police, and a tracking dog from the N.C. Dept. of Corrections.
Strickland was reportedly caught swimming in Lake Tabor just before 7 p.m., witnesses said.
Part of Complex Street in Tabor was evacuated this afternoon during the manhunt, witnesses said..
