Here’s our updated rain-free streak:
Dry weather, very low humidity, and breezy conditions will lead to a high(er) fire danger for today. Winds will be 15-25 mph at times with relative humidity values in the 25% range this afternoon.
Dry weather continues Thursday and Friday.
Then… RAIN! A cold front arrives this weekend. This will have plenty of upper-atmosphere help and bring some decent rainfall chances, particularly Saturday evening through Saturday night into Sunday morning. The best rain chances in OVER A MONTH.
The national blend of models forecast suite still doesn’t give us a LOT of rain … about a quarter to a third of an inch. So we’re not looking at a drought-buster by any means, not even close (we need about 8-11 inches of rain for that), but at least the streak will likely end Saturday night.
There are indications that a generally unsettled weather pattern may take shape for next week with more rain chances. And that’s a good thing.
