Here’s today’s Bottom Line

Welcome to FRIDAY!!

We picked up some very beneficial rainfall yesterday, over 1 inch of rain fell on my weather station in central Whiteville. Liquid gold!

Today will be high and dry as weak high pressure will be in control. It’s going to be a gorgeous day with lots of sunshine and highs in the mid 70s… hopefully you can get out and enjoy it!

A fairly significant southerly flow becomes established this weekend. This will mean conditions will be favorable for scattered to numerous showers and storms both Saturday and Sunday afternoons and evenings. We’ll start off both days with sunshine, but the shower/storm threat increases by the afternoon. There could be some heavy rainfall depending on who gets what… and that is essentially impossible to predict at this point.

A cold front sweeps across the area on Monday. This brings more showers and storms, quite similar to Thursday, followed by dry and cooler weather for the middle of next week.

No severe weather is anticipated through the forecast period, so there won’t be any worries in that regard.

Longer range modeling suggests that temperatures turn much more summer-like for the second half of May.
