Here’s today’s Bottom Line
Dry skies and warm (hot) temperatures will dominate for the next several days thanks to strong high pressure ridging just offshore.
Nothing but sunshine today, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Highs today will be in the mid 80s… and will be around 90 degrees Sunday through Wednesday. Humidity values should remain modest, therefore heat index values shouldn’t be much higher than the actual temps.
Then Thursday…
Long-range ensembles and corresponding deterministic modeling continues to indicate that the high pressure ridge will quickly lose influence. A slowly approaching cold front is likely to push east from the Tennessee Valley region. That front will favor greatly increased shower and thunderstorm chances by Thursday. The LREF and ECMWF AI ensembles show decent chances for soaking rainfall (LREF hinting at around 1.5 inches)… if the front stalls out over the area (which is possible), rainfall totals at that level are certainly possible.
