Seven-time State Champion and DII National Champion Serenity Harvey held her first Jelly Dash Track Camp in Whiteville over the weekend.
The two-day event brought out youth from Columbus and neighboring counties to learn skills and techniques that make individuals excel on the track. Just in this past year, Harvey was named All-American at University of Mt. Olive, Carolina Conference Female Player of the Year, and was honored by the City of Whiteville and Whiteville City Schools for her accomplishments.
She was the DII National Champion in the 200 Meter Dash. She recently transferred to the University of South Carolina where she will continue her career.
Harvey was pleased with the turnout and wanted to thank everyone involved. ”Thank you for all the people who supported our campers,” she said. “Thanks to Columbus County Parks and Recreation. Thanks to Coach Serena Smith, Coach Curtis Moss, and Coach Edward Squires. And most of all, thanks to my mom and nana.”
