An employee at the Whiteville Walmart was transported to Columbus Regional after she was allegedly assaulted with a car Sunday.
Whiteville Police reported that the woman was outside the store at 200 Columbus Corners when the suspect assaulted the victim and fled the scene. The incident was reported at 2:26 p.m.
The victim was treated on scene, but asked to be taken to Columbus Regional for additional care. The extent of her injuries was not immediately available.
Charges are pending in the case.
