A Miller Road man has been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor after allegedly sending explicit messages to a teenaged girl, then trying to give her alcohol.
Sterling Gore, 43, of 4974 Miller Rd., Tabor City, was released on a $2,000 unsecured bond on the single charge, according to detention center records.
The Sheriff’s Office said detectives began working on the case after Horry County Social Services received a report that Gore had allegedly sent the girl explicit text messages. Detectives and social workers reviewed the messages. The report said they also discovered that Gore allegedly tried to give her alcohol while she was at his residence.
Detectives drew a warrant for Gore and arrested him July 20. He was released roughly an hour after being processed.
