One of the two men arrested by Columbus County Deputies July 27 allegedly stole onions from a Whiteville restaurant.
Jonathan Grainger, 24, was charged with misdemeanor larceny. He was held under a secured bond. Grainger said he was homeless.
Jonathan Andrew Rose, age unavailable, was charged with five counts each of breaking and entering and larceny, felony larceny, and felony conspiracy.
Deputies responded to the 1100 block of Lumberton Road after a report that Rose and Grainger were on the property, and both were wanted. Deputies immediately made contact with Grainger, and found Rose a short time later. Both were detained and served with the outstanding warrants at the sheriff’s office.
Grainger was identified as the suspect who allegedly took a bag of onions from outside Ward’s Grill in Whiteville on July 27, according to WPD reports and social media posts.
Rose’s warrants were not immediately available.
