An ongoing stolen property investigation led to the arrest of a Chadbourn area man on firearm and theft charges.
Nicky Delane Blackwell, 54, ofm1663 Bee Tree Lane, was held under a secured bond, according to detention center reports. He faces two counts of possession of stolen property and a stolen firearm; felony conspiracy, and altering a firearm serial number.
Detectives from the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on Blackwell’s home July 27, according toa. press release. They discovered a .22 Magnum Henry rifle and a .38 Special revolver that had been reported stolen, along with a 12 gauge shotgun with an altered serial number and an outboard motor from previous theft reports, according to warrants.
The property will be processed and returned to the owners, the CCSO said.
Additional charges are pending.
