Traffic Stop leads to Warrants, Drugs

Vice-Narcotics detectives arrested a man on drug charges after an Aug. 11 traffic stop.

Roger Dale Reaves, 59, of 3288 Gore Trailer Rd., Whiteville, was held under $3,500 secured bond, according to detention center reports. He faces charges of felony maintaining a vehicle for drug activity, simple possession of suboxone tablets, and possession of drug paraphernalia, the sheriff’s office said in a press release.

Investigators were on surveillance in the area of Sunny South Road and Peacock Road near Chadbourn when they spotted Reaves, the press release said. During a traffic stop, they discovered he had active warrants.
