Here’s today’s Bottom Line
This brutal and dangerous heat wave continues. The high pressure ridge just isn’t budging, so the heat and humidity will continue unabated. If we break the 100-degree mark today it will be the 14th day this summer (since June 1st) at or above 100 degrees! Tomorrow will be just as hot with highs again at or above the Misery Mark.
Thunderstorm activity will be isolated for the first half of the work week.
Then … maybe some change is in the air as modeling suggests a pretty good cold front approaches by Friday. It appears this front will get rather “hung up” across the eastern Carolinas. This would result in a much better chance for showers and thunderstorms … and slightly cooler temps (still running above normal).
Tropics: Silent right now. Shear and dry air have vaporized the two systems I had been watching.
