Two separate narcotics investigations led to three arrests in recent days, according to the sheriff’s office.
An Aug. 31 checking station at Bladenboro Highway and Silver Spoon Road led to the confiscation of methamphetamines, according to a press release.
Jonathan Wesley Jones, 38, of 456 Chair Factory Rd., Nakina, was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $10,000 secured bond.
Simko, 43, also of 456 Chair Factory Rd., was cited for a seatbelt violation.
In the press release, the sheriff’s office said deputies with the HEAT Team were operating the checking station when Simko and Jones approached the checkpoint. Simko gave permission for the vehicle to be searched, the release said. Deputies found two plastic bags containing suspected meth in the vehicle.
Jones and Sink were also arrested on unrelated charges Sept. 9. Warrants show they were each charged with breaking, entering and larceny; felony conspiracy; attempting to obtain property by false pretenses; and second degree trespassing. They are alleged to have taken a pair of antique doors from a building near their home, then sold the doors on Facebook Marketplace.
In an unrelated narcotics arrest, investigators with the Vice-Narcotics Unit were conducting patrols between Chadbourn and Whiteville Sept. 2 when they arrested Chrystal Michelle Harrelson, 41. Harrelson was allegedly driving with a revoked license when she was stopped. A search of the vehicle turned up quantities of meth and marijuana, according to a press release.
Harrelson, of 2433 East Arcadia Rd., was charged with possession of meth; maintaining a vehicle for drug activities; driving while license revoked; possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. She was held under $5,000 secured bond.
