‘Jane Doe’ Fights Officers Helping Her

A Chadbourn woman was arrested after allegedly fighting with Whiteville Police who were trying to help her early Saturday.

Keyozia Anoinia Gore, 27, was held under $5,000 secured bond, charged with disorderly conduct, according to detention center reports. Her address was listed as 200 W. Sixth St., Chadbourn.

Whiteville Police reported that officers stopped to assist an apparent stranded motorist at 416 J.K. Powell Blvd. Saturday morning around 2:08 a.m. Gore was allegedly “visibly impaired” and outside of the Ford automobile. The car was stopped in the roadway and had apparent damage, but it wasn’t clear if the damage was new or old, according to WPD.

Officers approached Gore and she reportedly became “assaultive” and began cursing those who were trying to help her. Officers offered to get her a ride home, since they did not have probably cause for a driving while impaired arrest, the report said, but Gore resisted and was taken into custody. She refused to give her name at the time of the incident, and was originally booked under the name Jane Doe.
