The suspect in a Sept. 22 shooting has been jailed.
Kyron Spivey, 26, of 1491 Rico Rd., Whiteville, is being held under no bond on a single charge of attempted first degree murder, according to warrants and a press release from the sheriff’s office.
Willie James Shine called 911 while driving himself to Columbus Regional after he was shot Sept. 22 in North Hallsboro, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies met him en route, and EMS transported Shine the rest of the way the hospital. The suspect was identified as an unknown female at the time.
A joint investigation by the sheriff’s office and State Bureau of Investigation, with the assistance of Whiteville Police, led to Spivey’s arrest. The shooting was the result of a “domestic incident,” according to the CCSO. The sheriff’s office initially described the assault as a case of road rage.
