Loris Shuts Out South Columbus

LORIS–The Loris Lions scored on their first three plays on offense as the Lions’ crushed South Columbus 49-0.

The Stallions were hit hard early and didn’t recover. On the first play from scrimmage, Deuce Stephens toted the ball 59 yards to the house to put the Lions up 7-0. On the second drive, Rodrick Purcia scored on a second long TD run. The third play from scrimmage was a quarterback pass from Ayden Scott to OB Clark to put the score 21-0 before the Stallions could blink.

Rodrick Purcia was on the receiving end of a Scott touchdown in the second quarter to push the lead to 35-0. Scott also found Stephens for a pass in the endzone for the final score of the night to give Loris a 49-0 advantage. Ayden Scott recorded 344 yards passing and four touchdowns on the night for the Lions. Deuce Stephens caught 175 yards in the air plus two touchdowns while teammate Jay Todd recorded 11 tackles on the night.

The Loris Lions (3-0) will travel to North Myrtle Beach (3-0) next Friday, while South Columbus (1-2) will host West Brunswick (1-2).
