Whiteville Chase Ends in Multiple Charges

Whiteville Police filed multiple charges against a man after a brief chase where the suspect allegedly rammed a patrol car.

Angel Arellano, 35, gave addresses of 256 Brittany Lane and 620 Davis Ave., Whiteville, on court documents. He is charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest, two counts of assault on a government official, driving while license revoked, fictitious tags, no insurance, and hit and run. He was held under a secured bond.

Whiteville Police reported that officers were attempting to stop Arellano for a traffic violation Wednesday around 2 p.m. when he fled the stop and headed for Davis Avenue. He reportedly rammed into one of the  patrol cars pursuing him, causing minor damage, according to police.

Arellano was taken into custody without further incident. Another person in the Ford Ranger truck, a 19 year old, was not charged.
