Suspect Jailed in San Jose Shooting

The man who allegedly shot a 17 year old female and caused a panic in the San Jose parking Lot has been arrested by Whiteville Police.

Jalen Nique Shipman, 21, is being held under a secured bond on a single charge of assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury. He was arrested on a warrant drawn by Sgt. A. Jackson of the Whiteville Police.

On Oct. 29, WPD officers were called to the San Jose restaurant at 1616 S. Madison Street to a report of a shooting, according to police reports. They found a 17-year-old female had been hit by gunfire, and at least two vehicles were damaged. Shipman allegedly fired multiple rounds in the attack, striking a Volkswagen and a Mercedes Benz as well as the victim.
