Ms. Nekia Jaumel Hemingway affectionally known as (KeKe) 38, of Durham, NC formerly of Evergreen, NC gained her heavenly wings on April 18, 2022, at her residence.
Nekia Jaumel Hemingway affectionally known as “KeKe” 38, of Durham, NC formerly of Evergreen, NC gained her heavenly wings on April 18, 2022, at her residence.
Nekia was born on November 5, 1983, to Rev. Samuel Hemingway, Jr. and Mrs. Janet Campbell Hemingway. The family circle was broken with the passing of her mom, Mrs. Janet Hemingway. Upon the marriage of her father to Ms. Sandra Clarida the family circle was enlarged for Nekia to enjoy the love of mom during her teenage years to present.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Saturday April 23, 2022, at 1:00pm from Atkinson Temple Holiness Church, 968 McMillan Road, Whiteville, NC; where Rev. Mary Etta Lee is pastor, with Dr. Rev. J.R. Leach eulogizing. Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery, Evergreen, NC.
Ms. Hemingway is survived by her father: Rev. Samuel Hemingway, Jr., of Lumberton, NC, mother: Mrs. Sandra Clarida Hemingway of Lumberton, NC, brothers: Rev. Samuel “Jack” Hemingway, III, of Durham, NC, Charles Clarida, sisters: Sarah Clarida and Lazella Clarida all of Whiteville, NC, and a host of loving family and friends.
A walkthrough viewing will be held on Friday April 22, 2022, at Smith Funeral Home, Inc. from 3 to 5pm. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the services at the church.
