Wednesday’s Catholic Charities distribution event at Old Dock has been cancelled due to the possibility of severe weather.
The next distribution event will be Sept. 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Building Bridges.
The non-profit provides food, diapers, feminine hygiene materials, incontinence products and other supplies at no charge.
On its current track, Tropical Storm Idalia is expected to begin impacting southeastern North Carolina Wednesday afternoon into the evening hours, and continue through Thursday. The storm is expected to make landfall in Florida as a hurricane and make its way northward. The weather forecast for Idalia in the region is highly track dependent, but three to seven inches of rain and 40-mile power hour winds are possible between Wednesday morning and Thursday night.
