Local Pancake Fundraisers Set

Both a church and festival committee in Columbus County will be holding pancake fundraisers for a good cause during the first week of September. Engage Life Church and the N.C. Honey Festival committee will be flipping flapjacks and raising proceeds on Sept. 2 and 5.

Engage Life Church will be having their pancake sale for their men’s ministry on Sept. 2 from 8-10:30 a.m. at the Highway 55 restaurant in Whiteville. You can get all-you-can-eat pancakes for $5, and delivery is available for local businesses. Pre-pay or pay at the restaurant on the day of the event. Donations are welcome.

Engage Life Church is located at 386 Thompson Town Road in Whiteville. Highway 55 can be found at 104 Columbus Corners Drive.

The N.C. Honey Festival will be hosting their annual charity pancake supper at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences at Whiteville on Sept. 5 from 5-7 p.m. at the facility. The museum is the festival’s 2023 beneficiary.

Plates are $5 each and include pancakes, syrup, and sausage. Guests can dine in or order plates to go. Advance tickets are available for purchase at the museum, or you can pay for the plates the day of the event.
