Fire destroyed a vacant warehouse in downtown Whiteville Monday.
Fire Marshal Hal Lowder said the blaze was reported around 5 a.m. The warehouse, located on Magnolia Street, was a total loss.
The building was empty and had no electricity, Lowder said.
Whiteville Fire Department, Whiteville Rescue, Whiteville Police and the fire marshal responded to the blaze. No injuries were reported.
The building had previously been used by a recycling company. It was uninsured, Lowder said. The cause of the fire is unknown.
