Parents have two more opportunities to tell officials their views on county schools as well as find out about future plans for the system.
Columbus County Schools is hosting two more Community Cafes. One is tonight (Tuesday) at West Columbus, and the final cafe is Dec. 4 at South Columbus. Asst. Superintendent Kelly Jones said the meetings are designed to “connect with families, share concerns and build relationships” between families and the schools.
The meetings will be held at 7 p.m.
Monday’s meeting at East Columbus drew an interested and engaged crowd of parents, and officials hope to see even more in attendance at the remaining two meetings.
While the meetings are held at high schools, they are open to parents and families of all grade levels. Refreshments, interpreters and childcare will be available.
“Information from these discussions will be used to help the district improve the school system,” Jones said.
