A Saint James woman died in a single vehicle crash near Hallsboro Wednesday.
Witnesses said Angel Cartrette died when her vehicle crashed into a brick wall on Old Northeast Road near Thelma Road. The crash occurred just after 1 p.m. in the 1100 block of Old Northeast.
The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Hallsboro and St. James firefighters responded.
Cartrette worked at the Dollar General store in Hallsboro, and was the mother of a young daughter. Laura Norton is collecting donations to help with final expenses. Norton can be contacted via the Everything Hallsboro page on Facebook.
