Whiteville Police are investigating a string of vehicle thefts and vehicle break-ins in recent weeks.
In a social media post, WPD urged residents to lock vehicles, remove all valuables and park in well-lit areas whenever possible. The thieves have been targeting electronics, cash and firearms as well as stealing the actual vehicles in several cases.
