A Delco couple is in jail after they allegedly fired multiple shots at deputies attempting to arrest a man on outstanding warrants.
Dale Douglas Malpass, 54, of Kelly’s Plantation Road, was wanted for failure to appear on a misdemeanor, according to warrants. He and Sallie Ann Hewett, 38, were arrested in the Tuesday incident.
Malpass was charged with five counts of assault with a firearm on a law enforcement officer; discharging a firearm into occupied property; possession of a firearm by a felon; and resisting. He was held without bond, according to detention center reports.
Hewett was also charged with five counts of assault with a firearm on a law enforcement officer; discharging a firearm into occupied property; and resisting. Her bond was set at $100,000 secured.
Malpass and Hewett allegedly opened fire on the deputies from inside the home the couple share at 264 Kelly’s Plantation Rd., Delco. At least five shots were fired when deputies approached the residence. There were no reports of injuries.
