Fair Bluff Woman Charged for Assaulting Baby

Police have charged a woman with abusing her three-month-old infant after he was discovered to have multiple broken bones.

Serenity Isabel Hayes, 24, of 2029 Main St., Apt. 302, Fair Bluff, was arrested Dec. 3 and released on a $120,000 secured bond, according to detention center records. She was charged with a single county of felony child abuse inflicting serious injury.

The warrants said that in August, Hayes’ three-month-old baby boy was discovered to have “extensive injuries which were clinically found  to have been caused at different times” and were in “different stages of healing.” The warrant noted  the child had multiple fractures to both legs, several ribs and a fractured clavicle.

The warrant was issued Nov. 26.
