Deputies will be stationed at Delco and Tabor City in case of emergencies during the coming winter storm.
“We’ll have five deputies each at Tabor and the East End station,” Sheriff Bill Rogers said. “We’ll also have personnel at the sheriff’s office to cover the north and west. They’ll all have trucks that can handle the weather, just in case they’re needed.”
The sheriff’s office has a number of all-weather vehicles in its fleet that are designed to be used during weather emergencies such as floods and winter weather events.
“We want to encourage everyone to stay home and stay safe,” Rogers said. “But if they need us, we will be there to help.”
