The sheriff’s office is investigating a case of potential animal cruelty after a family’s cat was found dead in a plastic bag.
Johnny High contacted the sheriff’s office Tuesday, the report said. High said the cat had been missing from the Red Hill Road home since the previous evening.
The cat was found inside a plastic trash bag outside the residence, according to the report. High told investigators he suspected someone had harmed the animal while he was away from home.
The sheriff’s office is investigating.
