One Charged with Crop Damage

One man has been charged after allegedly driving through a newly-planted cornfield.

Eston Clint Nobles, 37, was charged with a single count of injury to crops and lands, according to Detention Center reports. He was released on $2,500 unsecured bond. Nobles listed his address as 272 Hewitt White Lane, Chadbourn.

The sheriff’s office reported that Johnathan McPherson contacted authorities April 15 after discovering someone had driven through the field beside Nobles’ home and caused around $500 damage. Nobles was taken into custody Wednesday.
