Man Jailed After Alleged Entry, Assault

Deputies arrested a man Friday after he allegedly broke into a woman’s home and assaulted her.

James Alven Grate, 42, of 5878 Miller Rd., Tabor City, was released on $3,000 secured bond Saturday, according to the sheriff’s office. He was charged with breaking and entering to terrorize and assault on a female.

The victim called 911 April 29 after Grate reportedly forced his way into her home on Reynolds Road, threatened her and assaulted her.
