Student May Face Charges for Pepper Spraying Bus

Nine students were exposed to pepper spray Thursday after a juvenile female deployed the spray on the inside of her bus.

The sheriff’s office said the incident occurred on a West Columbus High School bus near the new elementary and middle school. The bus driver stopped the bus after the girl, who is 14, allegedly sprayed a canister. Nine students were let off the bus. No serious injuries were reported.

Video from the bus showed that the girl was involved in an assault with another student, the report said.

A juvenile petition is pending, and the investigation is continuing.
