East Columbus High Track standout Chyeanne Freeman has signed an athletic track scholarship with Fayetteville State University.
Freeman finished second in the 1A State Championship 300 Meter Hurdles with a time of 49.47 seconds.
“I’m looking forward to the opportunity at Fayetteville State,” Freeman said. “I would like to thank ‘Ma’ Coach Toi Brown, my grandparents, and to my sisters.”
Freeman said she first wanted to thank God for giving her the strength, determination, and support to make it this far. Her grandmother reminded her of Phillippians 4:13, she said: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Chyeanne stated this scripture stays with her through every challenge and every moment she wants to give up.
