David Wise is the new manager for the town of Chadbourn.
Mayor Phillip Britt said Friday that Wise has a variety of experience in education and administration. The Midwestern native has worked in city government in Rocky Mount and Roanoke Rapids, as well as in Colorado and Illinois.
“Mr. Wise has extensive experience in planning,” Britt said.
Wise said in an email that he has “extensive” experience in historic preservation as well as downtown redevelopment – two area Chadbourn has struggled with in recent years. He has restored multiple Victorian homes as well as redeveloping early 20th century structure for mixed use properties.
He worked as community development and planning director during his time in North Carolina, and is certified as a Zoning Official by the N.C. School of Government.
He has also worked as a substitute teacher in all grades from Pre-K through 12th, as well as providing tutoring assistance.
