The man who allegedly tried to kick in the door of an occupied home last week – and was caught on camera in the process – has once again been done in by technology.
Stacy Keith Prince, 26, of 213 Bell St., Tabor City, was charged with felony breaking and entering, and misdemeanor larceny on June 3. Prince was released on a secured bond.
Prince allegedly broke into a Tabor City home June 1, then then tried to kick in a neighbor’s door while a woman and several children were inside. He was recorded on a doorbell camera during the alleged break-in attempt.
While officers were investigating the woman’s 911 call, the neighbor who had first been broken into contacted police and said his property had been entered. Prince was picked up a short time late and held under a secured bond.
On June 3, Rayan Cox called 911 to report a break-in on Shelly Street in Tabor City. Cox showed officers a security camera video of Prince attempting to gain entry into the Cox home. When he could access the house, a police report said, Prince entered a building and came out carrying a camera.
Prince was returned to custody and held under a secured bond.
