A man out on bond for domestic violence is back in jail, charged with assaulting another woman.
Joe Antonio Dantzler, 41, is being held under no bond in the Columbus County Detention Center. He is charged with assault by pointing a gun, according to warrants. His address was listed as 111 Hickory Ridge Rd., Whiteville.
The sheriff’s office responded to a call about a domestic dispute involving weapons in the 2500 block of Georgia Pacific Road just after 1 a.m. today (June 23), the report said. The victim said Dantzler pointed a handgun at her during an argument and left the scene.
Deputies found Dantzler after a brief search. They also located a .40 Smith and Wesson thought to have been used in the assault.
Court records show that Dantzler was out on bond following a November domestic assault case where he allegedly struck a woman in the face and pulled her hair. He was arrested in May and released on bond after appearing before a judge.
