A wild chase through Riegelwood ended with multiple charges for a woman July 29.
Tori Vanette Langdon, 23, is being held under $100,000 secured ond, according to Detention Center records. She was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, fleeing to elude arrest, driving on a closed highway, driving 80 miles per hour in a work zone, a lane violations and multiple other traffic charges. Her address was listed as 90 J. Bennerman Dr., Riegelwood.
Langdon was spotted driving a reported stolen car on N.C. 87 by a deputy on patrol, according to warrants. When the deputy attempted a traffic stop, she allegedly fled, reaching speeds of more than 100 at times and driving 80 mph through a work zone. Langdon allegedly drove the wrong way on N.C. 87 at one point, into oncoming traffic, and drove around barricades and barrels to gain entry to a closed roadway.
When she was finally forced to stop, warrants say she resisted the arresting deputy. Langdon did not have a license at the time of the chase, warrants show. She is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 13.
