A Chadbourn man was arrested after allegedly making more than $55,000 in transactions using a stolen identity.
Ruther Stevens III, 57, 39 counts total of obtaining property by false pretense, financial card theft, and identity theft, according to detention enter reports. His address was listed as 62 Batten lane, Chadbourn. His bond was set at $18,000 secured/
Stevens is alleged to have used a woman’s identity and CashApp to make transactions totaling $55,350, according to warrants. The warrants were issued July 28, and he was arrested Aug. 3.
