Eagles, Knights Win; Stallions, Vikings, Pack Fall
In Tabor City, East Bladen shut out South Columbus 9-0 in soccer on Tuesday. Ishaq Algozy scored three goals and had three assists while Android Garcia scored three goals in the victory for the Eagles (1-1-1). The Eagles will host Clinton (1-1-1) Thursday.
South Columbus (0-4) will travel to the Swamp to face rival East Columbus today (Aug. 19).
West Bladen won its first match of the year on Tuesday as they defeated West Columbus 9-0 in Cerro Gordo. The Knights (1-0-1) got two goals from Jason Velazques and an assist while teammate Diego Santos scored a goal and dished out two assists in the win.
West Bladen will host Lakewood (1-0) today.
On Monday, Whiteville fell to West Brunswick in Shallotte 2-1 in boys’ soccer. West Brunswick (2-0-1) will travel to South Columbus (0-4) on Aug. 24. The Pack (1-1-2) will host Heide Trask (2-1) today (Aug. 19).
West Columbus (0-1) will do a rematch in Dublin against the Knights on Aug. 24.
