Here’s today’s Bottom Line
The dry spell continues. Yesterday was day #18 in Whiteville since our last measurable rain event. The few sprinkles some of us noted today does not represent a “measurable” rainfall.
One more unseasonably warm and dry day today thanks to high pressure desperately trying to maintain control.
Low pressure will lift far north of the Great Lakes going into Friday. This will drag a cold front across the area during the afternoon, with a line of thunderstorms … possibly strong … accompanying the front.
This line of showers/storms should cross southwest to northeast during the afternoon hours. Overall rainfall totals will be rather modest.
ISOLATED damaging wind gusts are possible with this line on Friday.
Cooler high pressure starts to ridge in behind the front, with highs Sunday and Monday in the 60s with early morning lows in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
Tropics: An area of low pressure is likely to develop well offshore. This may take on subtropical characteristics … but is going to be zero threat to the United States.
