Deputies have arrested a Clarendon man wanted in two separate felony cases.

Tyler Edward Sutton, 25, was picked up in a traffic stop on Horace Cox Road near Tabor city, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office. He faces felony charges of breaking  and entering a motor vehicle, larceny of a firearm and larceny of a motor vehicle, along with two misdemeanor counts of failure to appear. His bond was set at $23,000, according to the sheriff’s office.

Sutton and another man were identified on a security video after allegedly stealing a dirt bike form a Roseland Road home in September. The video was shared on social media, the sheriff’s office reported, which led to identifying the suspects.

The motorcycle was found abandoned on West Sixth Street in Tabor City in January, while investigators were working on an unrelated case. It was returned to the owners by the sheriff’s office.

On May 9, the sheriff’s office reported that an MM Ray Road man found that someone had broken into his vehicle and stolen a Taurus handgun. Sutton was identified as the suspect in that case, and warrants obtained for his arrest. The firearm has not yet been recovered.

The second suspect is still at large.
