Opinions & Commentary

Commentary on Current Events of Interest to Columbus, and the Surrounding Counties of NC

Articles in the Commentary section are opinions, not news.  We feature columns by staff members and guests, letters to the editor, and editorials from ColumbusCountyNews.com.  Dissenting opinions are always welcome and encouraged. Length should be no more than 300 words. Libelous, vulgar and defamatory language will not be published. Personal attacks and ad hominem criticisms of individuals will not be published.  Comments, compliments, criticisms, observations, testimonials, and other submissions are welcome.  Anonymous submissions will not be accepted. You must include a name, community and telephone number with any submission. The telephone number will not be published, but we will contact you to ensure that you are who you claim to be. While submissions from readers outside our county are welcome, Columbus residents or those with roots here will take precedence.  Endorsements of candidates will be published until the beginning of early voting.  ColumbusCountyNews.com reserves the right to edit submissions for grammar and consistency with libel laws and journalistic standards.

Feel free to contact Managing Editor Jefferson Weaver with any questions. You can telephone 910.914.6056, or email JeffersonWeaver@ColumbusCountyNews.com
