The man allegedly assaulted by a father and son on Christmas Eve now faces assault charges of his own. One person was transported to New Hanover Regional and another injured after an early morning shooting at a Whiteville bar. Whiteville Police were called to Block’s Bar and Grill at 1:11 a.m., according to a press release from WPD.  The bar is located at 1032 S. Deputies have arrested a Clarkton area man for allegedly raping a child in August. Christopher Bryson Hickman, 42, of 1140 Tart Rd., Clarkton, was charged with statutory rape by an adult and statutory sex offense with a child. His bond was set at $200,000. The sheriff’s office reported that the alleged incident occurred in August. The victim is between seven and twelve years of age.
