Traffic was tangled on N.C. 87 near Sandyfield Monday when a van crossed the centerline and collided with a loaded logging truck, killing the van driver. Dennis Emmett Carver of Riegelwood was dead on the scene, according to Trooper B.T. Worriax of the Highway Patrol.
