The sheriff’s office has identified David Kadeem Hemingway, 28, as the man killed in the Oct. 5 shooting near Tabor City. Hemingway and two other men were shot on Memory Lane just after 11 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office. All were taken to an area hospital for treatment. Hemingway later died of his injuries. The suspect in a 1995 Wilmington rape case has been arrested after DNA evidence tied him to the crime. The man is reportedly serving time for robberies in Columbus county.
