A Bolton man has been charged for allowing the September 2025 assault on a child. Anthony Dewitt Ameri Jacobs, 37, of 7848 Old Lake Rd., was arrested today (April 8) on a single count of misdemeanor child abuse. Updated 8:45 p.m. A wildfire in Bladen County is causing smoke and ash across Columbus County, and is visible for 50 miles.
