Two allegedly impaired men were arrested after they reportedly assaulted deputies trying to assist them in separate incidents. One person was slightly wounded when an altercation turned into a gunfight Saturday. The sheriff’s office said deputies responded around 10:26 to Spring Meadow Road, Whiteville.
