A burn barrel allegedly shot a Tabor City man Jan. 5.
Joshua A. Vereen, 29, was transported to Columbus Regional with multiple bullet wounds in both legs, according to the sheriff’s office. He told deputies that bullets inside a burn barrel on Shug Norris Road apparently ignited, causing his injuries.
Deputies noted that Vereen’s story changed several times, and he refused to cooperate with law enforcement.
The case was closed.
