Ronald Devon “Ronnie” Williams, Sr., 75, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022 in Columbus County Regional Medical Center. He was born August 7, 1946 in Columbus County, a son of the late Thomas Andrew Williams and Lottie Mae (Mercer) Williams.
Ronnie was an auto mechanic for over 55 years, and a Master Tech at Wells Oldsmobile for over 25 of those years.
He is survived by his wife, Doris (Beck) Williams of the home; a son, Devon (Anne) Williams of Chadbourn; two grandsons, Wesley (Brittany) Williams of Warsaw and Matt (Hannah) Williams of Nakina; one granddaughter, Adrianna W. (Cade) Hinson of Chadbourn; three great granddaughters, Taylor Williams, Cashlyn Williams, and Aaliyah Spivey; one sister, Sandra (Paul) Hardie of Whiteville; an adopted sister, Lori Ann (Brian) Ethridge of Crusoe; two sisters-in-law, Ann Williams of Evergreen and Candy Williams of Bladenboro; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Tommy and Wade Williams; a sister, Barbara Stanley; his father and mother-in-law, Dewey and Vergie Beck; and a great grandson, Samuel Grant Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 16, 2022 in the Inman Ward Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Hinson Cemetery in Beaverdam. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Sunday at Inman Ward Funeral Home and Crematory.
